Welcome To The Purple House Nursery
Located within the Preston Road Women’s Centre, Purple House Nursery is a nurturing and inclusive early years setting where every child is cherished and supported. We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework to ensure learning, development and safety for all children.

A Warm, Family-Like Environment
Our ethos is rooted in care, compassion and trust. Our experienced team are passionate about providing a safe stimulating environment where children feel happy confident and ready to learn.
At The Purple House Nursery, children are at the heart of everything we do. Their well-being and development guide every aspect of our practice. We work closely with families to ensure each child’s unique needs are met, laying foundations for a bright and positive future.
A Calm, Inspiring Space To Explore And Grow
Our nursery welcomes children aged 0-5 years, offering a rich stimulating environment where every day is filled with fun, discovery and learning. Our passionate team supports each child’s individual journey, celebrating their milestones and encouraging their natural love of learning.
We believe children learn best when they are happy and enjoying themselves. That’s why we provide a wide range of creative, engaging and imaginative activities that promote key skills in communication, physical development, problem solving and social interaction-all through play.
Our nursery is designed to feel calm, natural and inviting. We’ve created a nurturing atmosphere across two purpose-built rooms, thoughtfully decorated with neutral tones, wooden furniture and lots of natural light. This natural approach helps children feel at relaxed and ready to explore their environment.

We Love The Outdoors!
Our children regularly take part in exciting excursions to local parks, libraries, the woods and even a farm.
Our outdoor area offers a world of adventure. Our garden is secure and spacious with a wide selection of outdoor toys, bikes, climbing equipment, and slides. We even have a music and a water wall for our children to enjoy. We have a summer house for quiet and creative play. We believe play is essential to a child’s development, and our garden is a space where imaginations grow and friendships blossom.
Preparing Confident, Capable School Starters
As children approach school-age we gently guide and support them to become confident independent learners who are ready for their next big step. We understand that starting school is a big step for both children and their families. That’s why we place a great emphasis on school readiness.
We support each child to become a confident, independent learner by introducing routines, responsibilities and skills that will help them feel secure and excited about starting school. We are child-led and offer play-based learning, structured activities, and real-life experiences. We lay the foundations for a smooth and positive transition.

Fully Trained, Passionate Practitioners
We are a team of fully trained practitioners qualified and trained in Early Years Education. We are fully trained in paediatric first aid and hold up-to-date safeguarding qualifications, always ensuring the highest standards of care and protection. Our dedicated SENCo (Special Education Needs Co-ordinator) works closely with children who have additional needs, ensuring they receive the right support encouragement and opportunities to thrive. This includes working in partnership with families and external professionals to create personalised strategies and learning plans that promote inclusion, confidence and growth. We have a deep understanding and natural empathy for children under 5. Our team are committed to providing a safe, supportive, and enriching environment where every child can thrive.
We celebrate the individuality of every child and are proud to be an inclusive, supportive setting.
